“I am going to speak some reckless words, and I want you to listen recklessly.” Endings are beginning to take place in the world of farmers markets. Tuesday was our last Tuesday in both Napa and Sonoma. Given the weather holds, we will be in Napa this Saturday, October 29, (last Saturday for Napa) and in Calistoga and Oakland, Grand Lake as well. We are experiencing the, "Frost Descent" in the Japanese calendar...letting us know winter is not far behind. "Be unpredictable, be real, be interesting. Tell a good story." Once sitting around a campfire in Wild Rivers New Mexico, my friend/painting mentor John Wenger said, don't make paintings make too much sense. That was a sharp stick in the eye moment for me...something that really has been an integral part of the "Making" process for me, whether it is painting or making jewelry. Something about driving on a full moon night through the desert with the headlights off that makes just enough sense for me...  Since I've been using vintage silver plated trays to make jewelry, I've found many of them are awards...
