"Be unpredictable, be real, be interesting. Tell a good story."
Once sitting around a campfire in Wild Rivers New Mexico, my friend/painting mentor John Wenger said, don't make paintings make too much sense. That was a sharp stick in the eye moment for me...something that really has been an integral part of the "Making" process for me, whether it is painting or making jewelry. Something about driving on a full moon night through the desert with the headlights off that makes just enough sense for me...
Since I've been using vintage silver plated trays to make jewelry, I've found many of them are awards or some acknowledgement of someone's success or achievement. Usually in the center of the tray is where it is engraved. So when I get a tray with this, I cut it out, polish it and save it in a my favorite wooden Japanese box...why you ask...I don't have an answer, one of the reasons though is, I am amazed how people share how they feel about someone...
Here is my most recent favorite silver plated tray center, and it's all about "Mothers"
I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with all of these....any ideas???
